Izumo Grand Shrine Part 2

The shrine is said to have originally looked very different from how it looks today and is said to have stood 48 metres high being raised from ground level on enormous pillars. The local museum has a model of the original structure as well as the remains of some of the pillars.

Tokyo Disneyland has a reputation for putting on a spectacular night parade and the illuminated floats are certainly something to see. Normally the parade would be followed by fireworks but they were cancelled due to weather.  Japan has not only been experiencing high temperatures for this time of year but there has also been some strong winds.
